The Tigers lost to the Minnesota Twins in a head-to-head showdown for the American League Central title, and they were beaten by the Lions in the television ratings, too.
The Lions soundly beat the Tigers in the Metro Detroit ratings in a Sunday television sports matchup.
The Lions-Bears game at Soldier Field in Chicago had an 18.6 rating for the Fox network telecast.
The Tigers-White Sox game at Comerica Park in Detroit had a rating of 11.1 on the Fox Sports Detroit cable network.
Both games started at 1 p.m. (Detroit time).
The Tigers beat the White Sox, 5-3, to set up a showdown with the Twins on Tuesday for the Central title. The Twins won, 6-5, to qualify for the American League Division playoff against the Yankees.
The Lions lost to the Bears, 48-24. The score was 21-21 at halftime.
