Eagles’ McNabb Deal would Impact Lions

Trade winds howling one spot above their spot in the draft order could have an impact on who’s available to the Lions with the second pick.
Or not.
The latest report out of the NFL owners meetings in Orlando has the Philadelphia Eagles offering quarterback Donovan McNabb to the St. Louis Rams. The Rams, according to a story in the Philadelphia media, would give up their second-round pick – 33rd overall – and safety Ashiomongo Atowe.
Even before the cocktail hour Wednesday afternoon, the story was shot down by a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Rams GM Billy Devaney called the Philly story “absolutely false.”
“It’s utterly ridiculous,” Devaney said. “I haven’t talked to Philadelphia about any of their players.”
Another Rams source was quoted as saying: “They may have a trade offer, but not from us. Why would we trade for McNabb and then go watch Bradford throw on Monday?”
The Rams will attend Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford’s workout.
Trade or no trade, there is an impact on the Lions.
If the Rams trade for McNabb, that means they won’t draft Bradford. That means the Rams will either take Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, or trade the pick to a team that wants him.
If the Rams do not trade for McNabb, it likely means they’ll draft Bradford, assuming he performs well on Monday. It will be the first time NFL talent evaluators have seen Bradford throw in live drills since he injured his right (throwing) shoulder early in the 2009 season.
With the draft now 29 days away – starting at 7:30 on April 22 – every story and scrap of information carries more weight.
One man’s opinion – mine, of course: scratch the McNabb to St. Louis possibility. It won’t happen.

The Rams need alot of help, but McNabb isn’t going to help.
They may as well draft a young QB and build around him.
If they try to build around McNabb, by the time they fill the holes. McNabb will be to old, and they’ll have to get rookie QB.
Besides I think McNabb is over rated. They may as will keep
Bulger and hope he stays healthy. If they take Suh. The Lions have to take McCoy.
The Rams are collecting linemen, like the Lions were drafting WRs.
